COLBERT, Okla. - Paul Edger Allison, age 94, passed away at Southern Point in Colbert, OK, on March 12, 2014.
He was born on May 1, 1920, to Lawrence Edgar Allison and wife Virgie in the Northern Oklahoma Territory. In 1947 he married June Thomas and had four children.
Paul grew up in Oklahoma and Texas where he farmed, picked cotton, worked on a ranch, worked as a butcher and became a cook in the Army in WWII and was stationed in England where he cooked for Air Force pilots.
After leaving the army he worked as a butcher, a cook for Furrs Cafeteria, managed a hotel, and worked as a dry cleaner. He loved to garden, travel and eat.
He is survived by his sister Clarice Reed of Lubbock, Texas, son Kirby L. Allison Sr. and his wife Donice of Cartwright, Okla., stepdaughter Gena Simpson of Okla., eight grandchildren, Jeremy, Larry, Christy, Melissa, Angela, Michelle, Christopher, and Jessica, as well as 18 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Lawrence E. Allison, mother Virgie Allison, step mother Ethel Allison, brother Clarence Allison, wife Raijean Gore Allison, sons Larry and Byron Scott Allison, grandson Kirby L. Allison Jr. and son in law Tommy Simpson.
