Dear Joe & Evelyn,

Just a few lines to say hello and to let you know [2nd Son] made it back to Austin O.K. He was really pleased with his car. You would have though it was a brand new car he raved about it so.

I just want to let you know we appreciate your finding the car for [2nd Son]. He has been looking for quite some time now. I know it took a lot of your time so let me say thank you.

Evelyn, it was nice of you to have them for supper, that was a lot of extra added to your cooking, so thank you for having [2nd Son] and his friends. You all will have to come down so we can return the favor some time. OK?

Melva had a lecture from Ma Ma and it seems that Shirley is still having problems. Sure hopes she makes it OK.

Well the weather has been good here except for the wind - it blows dust in here from some where else that sure makes it rough on [sinuses] - Head get stopped up - just makes you miserable - ha!

Joe, have you bought any more cattle? - Or are you out of the cattle business for good? The way this weather has been (dry) you would probly have to feed them any way. But boy, the price of cattle has sure stayed high that is if the meat market prices are any indication of cattle prices.

Just wondered if you still plan to sell your place. If it would rain a little and get your [castal?] up new and green it would sure make your place easier to sell - no? There I'll close for now and leave room for Melva to write some. I'm writing at the office so excuse stationary.

Love John D.

[?] Morn.

She like to wait & buy her a new one when She graduation. That the day we are looking found to, then we are taking a long vacation - ha!

[1st Son] had to go to work at 9 o'clock this morning. He work 6 hrs overtime last week. He sure like that time & half & double time if they call him on Sunday - ha! I think he really like this girl so he's saving for the raining day I guess. ha!
