Funeral services for Andrew Jackson (Jack) Gilbert, 54, of Wills Point were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Coker-Matthews Funeral Home in Greenville with burial in the Cumby Cemetery in Cumby.
He died Monday following a sudden illness.
Gilbert was a native of Wills Point, born July 17, 1931, in Van Zandt County in the Board-Elwood Community.
He was a graduate of Wills Point High School. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Tawakoni Water Utility Corporation for 10 years. Prior to that, he was an employee of the Dow Chemical Company in Shreveport, Louisiana, for 21 years.
He married Evelyn Gore Gilbert July 19, 1980, and she survives along with five children, Debra Kay Deyer, Johnny Andrew Gilbert, and Monita Lynn Dorrian, all of Quinlan, Cynthia Jean McGarity of Commerce, and Rhonda Gail Chandler of Grand Saline; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Gilbert of Wills Point; two sisters, Alma Gleghorn of Wills Point and Louise Knight of Big Sandy; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rick Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Ronnie Gleghorn, Roger Chandler, Butch Meister and Jay Lynn Gore.
