Research Notes and Problems

There is some weirdness about the dates surrounding Hershel Gore. He apparently has a daughter born in 1945 when he himself died in 1941. I'm including the record below just because all other facts seem to check out. Hershel died in 1941. It's on his death certificate and tombstone. He died of Tuberculosis, a common post war epidemic, in 1941 the very same year Penicillin was discovered. On his death certificate is his parents names and on his tombstone is three daughters names. One on his grave is Rai Gene. There is a Rai Gene born at the right time to Hershel Gore and Jaunita Boatman along with several other children to the same couple that don't match the tombstone names, one of which was born in 1945. It's possible that Jaunita Boatman and Hershel Gore are another couple living in the same area that just happened to name one of thier children the same name. Keep these facts in mind as you read the records below.

Update 7/21/15: It appears, according to research I have not confirmed, that Jaunita remarried to a man named John Hershel Shanks. Note that he shares a middle name to Hershell Gore. It also appears that the daughter born in 1945 was illegitimate, born between the two Hershell marriages. I'd like to confirm these with actual records.
