Obituary

Johnny D. Patterson, 79, of Dallas died the evening of July 16, 2008, at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Burial follows in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation is today from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

The son of Tommy A. and Lena Adair Patterson, he was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Lone Oak. On Aug. 3, 1948, he married Wilma Faye May in Greenville; his brother, W.O. Majors, performed the ceremony. Mr. Patterson retired from Collins Radio in Richardson. He was a Baptist.

Surviving are a daughter, Trina Patterson of Denton; a brother-in-law, Dyrel May of Greenville; sisters-in-law Nona Patterson of Greenville, Nancy Patterson of Houston and Audrey Patterson of Rockport; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by his wife in 2004; his parents; two sons, Rex and Roger Patterson; and brothers Loyd, Jerral, Avon and E.L. "Cotton" Patterson.Pallbearers are Ricky Patterson, Mark Patterson, Thomas Patterson, Dwayne Patterson, Rod Allen an Sonny Stegman. Published in the Herald-Banner from 7/19/2008 - 7/21/2008
